Tips & notes
Mushrooms need air to breathe. Therefore, they should not be kept in a closed container. Instead, wrap them in a bit of paper or in a dry cotton cloth.
Mushrooms quickly absorb odors from other foods. It is therefore best to store them away from other odorous foods.
Mushrooms should be stored unwashed. Too much moisture quickly causes the mushrooms to become spongy.
